Atmostropic Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 9, 2026
This policy describes the Atmostropic web application, including its installed offline copy. “Provider” means the owner and provider of Atmostropic. It does not describe independent websites linked from the App.
Your calculations run in your browser. The App does not send calculator inputs or results to the Provider. It has no account system, advertising, analytics, or tracking integrations, and your EULA acceptance is stored only in this browser.
1. Data collected and processed
Calculator inputs, results, and unit selections are processed in browser memory. The App does not save them to an application database or transmit them to a calculation server. Its calculator state initializes again when the App is fully reloaded; your browser may independently retain or restore page information.
Before calculations can run, you must scroll to the end of the EULA and select its acceptance button. The App stores a local record containing acceptance, the EULA date and its content fingerprint. It contains no name, user identifier or acceptance timestamp and is not transmitted. Changed terms require acceptance again. Missing or unavailable local storage keeps calculations locked. This record is a local gate, not proof of your identity.
The App is served on the Provider's own domain using shared hosting supplied by DreamHost. When you access the App online, your browser requests application files, reports, legal documents, version history, and updates from that server. These requests disclose connection information to DreamHost, such as your IP address and requested URL, and may include browser information. DreamHost provides website access and error logs for hosting administration, security, and troubleshooting. This is separate from calculator inputs and results, which the App does not include in those requests. See DreamHost's Privacy Policy for its hosting-service practices.
The App automatically checks for software updates by requesting its service-worker script and release manifest from the same server. It shows an update badge when a new release is detected. The full new release is downloaded and verified only when you click Update, then activated. If downloading or verification fails, the current cached release remains selected and you can explicitly retry. Initial offline setup still downloads application resources; missing cached resources may need recovery requests. Browser-managed service-worker checks can occur independently. These requests do not include calculator inputs or results.
Atmostropic does not register a browser/AI-agent calculator tool. This does not prevent independent browser extensions or automation from accessing page content under their own permissions.
2. Local storage, retention, and deletion
The local EULA record remains until replaced for changed terms or removed by clearing site data. Removing it requires acceptance again, online or offline. No local usage counters or calculation histories are collected.
The App uses your browser's offline cache to store application code, images, bundled reference reports and data, and legal documents. These are application resources, not a history of your calculations. Older cached releases may remain while open App windows still use them. Your browser controls storage availability and may remove cached files.
To remove the App's local offline copy, close its windows and use your browser's settings to clear this site's stored data, including cached/offline content. If your browser's uninstall dialog offers to delete site data, select that option. Removing a home-screen icon or uninstalling a shortcut alone may not remove site data. Visiting the App again can download and cache its resources again.
Copies you save yourself, such as downloads, screenshots, or exported text, must be deleted separately. Clearing local site data does not delete hosting logs. Hosting-log retention depends on the services and settings used; this browser application does not control it.
DreamHost documents a default retention period of seven days for website HTTP logs. This describes its hosting default, not a promise that all service records or separately retained copies are deleted after seven days. See DreamHost's website-log documentation.
3. Support chat
The Support tab provides text-only, accountless communication for support, privacy requests and legal questions. The service requires a configured Atmostropic host; if unavailable, sending or checking shows an error. There is no email contact or recovery route. Do not supply account information or email, and do not send personal or sensitive information. Accountless does not guarantee anonymity: your words and hosting connection information can identify you.
The App checks for replies once at startup when this browser has a case secret and reports an online connection. Otherwise only clicking Send message, Check for replies or Delete contacts the support endpoint. There is no recurring polling, automatic retry on reconnection or push. The browser sends your message when applicable and a randomly generated case access secret. No diagnostics, calculation values or EULA acceptance record are attached. The secret and last known reply/read markers are stored locally; the server stores a hash of the secret. Conversation text stays in browser memory while viewed and on the support server. Badges indicate replies discovered at startup or by an explicit check, not a continuously monitored inbox.
You can delete your conversation from the active support store. Otherwise it expires 90 days after the last user or support message; checking alone does not extend it. The service denies access at expiry, with active-store cleanup at least daily when deployed. No application backups are made. Copies of deleted or expired conversations may remain in DreamHost’s backups or snapshots. DreamHost does not provide a guaranteed maximum retention period for those copies, and storing the support database outside the public web directory does not establish a backup exclusion. Restoring an older database could bring deleted conversations back; routine website restores exclude the support store. Hosting logs have separate retention as described above. Clearing browser site data loses the case secret and access, with no recovery, and does not itself delete the server conversation.
When enabled, the server emails the owner a new-message notice and a public case ID after your message is saved. The email contains no message text, access secret or identifying details supplied by you. Email delivery metadata and the notice may be retained by mail providers independently of chat deletion or expiry. Replies remain in this app; email is not a contact or recovery route.
4. Third-party services and links
The App contains no embedded advertising, analytics, social tracking, or third-party calculation service. It does not sell calculator inputs or results or send them to third parties. Hosting services may process the connection information described above.
Links to websites such as Wikipedia and NASA are optional external references. Following a link connects you to that website, which receives ordinary web-request information and applies its own terms and privacy practices. Review those policies before using the external service. External websites are not included in Atmostropic's offline cache.
5. Device permissions
The App does not request access to your location, camera, microphone, contacts, notifications, or other special device permissions. It uses standard browser capabilities for calculations, network access, and offline storage. Your browser or operating system may show its own installation or storage controls.
6. Changes and contact
If the App's data practices change, this policy will be updated with a new date. Any notice or consent required by applicable law will be provided. An offline copy may retain an older policy until the App is updated.
Use the Support tab in Atmostropic information for support, privacy requests and legal questions. A network connection and an enabled support service are required.
